"Barawo" (a Hausa word meaning "Thief") is a socio-political anthem released in 2020 by Port Harcourt duo Ajebo Hustlers.
The song calls out the dark hypocrisy of "jungle justice" in Nigeria. The duo points out how everyday people who steal minor things to survive are violently killed by street mobs, while corrupt politicians who loot billions from the country's treasury are celebrated and treated like VIPs.
Because it directly addresses systemic corruption, a broken justice system, and extrajudicial killings, the song naturally caught fire and became one of the defining soundtracks of the October 2020 #EndSARS protests.
